Bags & Shoe Recommendations.

Any recommendations for heels that I can wear for 4-5 hours that don’t hurt? Preferably 3.5 or 4 inches. The ones I have now are KILLING my feet and legs. I wear a size 11.

I’m also looking for professional bags to carry my files. For reference I’m currently using a Coach Willow Tote. It’s 15.75” long, 10.75” tall, and 5.75” wide. It carries my day to day files, books, and necessities. I’m looking for some this size or larger.

Thanks ❤️

I love this bag for travel or days I have to carry a lot for the office. https://www.loandsons.com/products/og-2-nylon-black-gold-grey?gclsrc=aw.ds&&tw_source=google&tw_adid=536315247519&tw_campaign=12753679414&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADogCDOAEZHGN6TyInRsvKjT6E9X3&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4Oe4BhCcARIsADQ0csnB1ZeyHot1mzWPmtk4REX31QdUdJ3jdOu-_MmV5IE1ViVh5x9uNYMaApopEALw_wcB

I’d say the only heel in that height that wouldn’t kill would be a chunky heel or a platform loafer. Unfortunately at that height it’s fashion or function and there is no in between. 😢

Dagne Dover and Beis totes are my go to recs if you’re looking for a functional tote that has structure and support and can carry files, laptops, books.

I came to the same conclusion about the chunky heels 😔. I love my stilettos, but they’re killing me. Thanks for the bag recommendations! These look good!

Clarks or Cole Haan.

like

Heeled platform loafers. I’d take it down on the height if you want to be comfortable though. 4 inches = pain.

like

Stuart Weitzman or Cole Haan (with the Nike insoles) are comfortable. Also I love bags by Other Stories, very nice quality!

I started working for a new law firm, much larger than the firm I was working for previously. The main attorney that I work under had noticed some mistakes I was making (I am a NY paralegal who took this position with the understanding that they’d be teaching me NJ and NYC real estate). Anyways, the attorney decided to tell the HR manager about the mistakes I had been making. Rather than HR discussing with me, the manager told my dramatic coworker to tell me..how should I handle this? Very hurt!

Working at a company and they can’t seem to hold on to their female, black and people of color employees. I blinked and 3 of the people who were in my onboarding class were either fired or they left. For context I’ve been in company less than a year and there are people who have been in the company 25yrs. I’m thinking of cutting loose before it gets to my turn.

Have you seen women wear ties and "masculine"-looking suits to work? Was it accepted by client and team? I've never worn a tie to work, but when I've worn clothing that had a more "masculine" fit either in grad school or some work environments, I've gotten comments and looks, or sometimes asked (or people gossiped) about my orientation. When I wear more "feminine"-looking clothing, I feel more more uncomfortable and awkward. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I just bought an Alexa for my grandma's birthday. Her old radio broke and she's been kind of sad because she can't listen to her favorite music anymore while cooking, so I thought this would be a good pick. She'll have her favorite music right there.

Later today my grandpa tells me she's not been asking Alexa for her favorite music, but for her radio stations instead 😭😂

What law firm is your favorite for run of the mill employment issues in the US and internationally (India, Australia, UK, Germany, etc.). Anybody here that recently made the switch from healthcare to tech? IT/web development/software engineering? I am a physical therapist in NYC and have been thinking about this for a looong time. Where to start? Best education with cheapest tuition? Pros and cons?

I’ve been working for a company for 25yrs, looking for advancement. I’m considered an SME, managing people, Vendors and working on large system conversions. Have provided long term goals. When requesting feedback I’m told I’m on the right path, no suggestions on what to improve. I asked about timelines for advancement and not being given anything concrete. Recently interviewed with another company as a Vendor Mgmt partner. Individual contributor, high visible position with potential. Thoughts?
