Baker Tilly does this every single year. This year, we did make some additional cuts in areas where we were overstaffed and in support areas like Marketing, People Solutions, Tech where we over-invested, but the bulk of the reductions were performance based. We have to right size.

Omg… have none of you ever had a job before? It’s review time, we evaluate under-performers and we let go of the underperforming when we are understaffed. There are no mass lay offs, and no one says anything because it’s not appropriate to tell the entire office that “x” employee was fired because they were not performing, it’s not the entire office’s business.
Bakertilly 14 are u saying 200 people were let go of in your office ? Or across the nation? Which means 4-6 per office. 😯
It's less than 200 people total and is all low performers, now that the annual evaluation period is done. This literally happens every year, it's 100% normal to get rid of your employees that habe habitually underperformed... I'm glad we aren't giving out participation trophies because it helps no one in the long run
It was not all low performance. They dissolved roles of firms they acquired. Always come down to billable hours and partner bonuses. Greed at the top at Baker Tilly after they let go of their CEO.

This was my scenario also. Every feedback & 6 month review indicated I should expect nothing but positive results.
But, Friday, before my anniversary, coincidentally just in-time for pay period & disconnect day.
I also directly asked, was performance a factor, was utilization a factor, with a resounding NO.
