I recently started at a small international startup (~130 employees) and I love it! My question is about company culture since there aren’t many US employees and we’re all remote. At what point does a startup focus on company culture? I don’t want to bring it up because it’s not at all the focus of my role, but there seems to be a lack of cohesion on the team.

Why do Google interviews dive deep into entirely different things than the ones listed on the job post?

I applied to a position that specified 3 YOE in stakeholder management and knowledge/experience with at least one programming language (with no minimum years of experience).

The interviews dove deep into web tech, SQL, Linux/Unix, network troubleshooting, system design, and Leetcode. The only thing that I expected from the job post was the Leetcode...

So coming up to my 3 years at UK KPMG Audit, and I got an offer from a food delivery tech company (think Ubereats, Deliveroo, Doordash etc) for a performance analyst type role which monitors/reports metrics for the Operations.

I'm interested in tech and thought this was a possible to foot in the door for future financial roles in tech.

Was wondering if anyone has thoughts on such roles or...is it a dead end approach.

I just accepted an offer as a Web Developer for a great company. After 20 years in the restaurant I went to a coding bootcamp in March and am so happy to find a job one month after graduating.

I'm now very nervous about passing my background check. I have two DUI's, one in 2005 and one in 2015. I have never had a background check during my time in the restaurant industry.

Should I be worried? Should I let the hiring manager know beforehand so there are no surprises? Please help!
