What is Bain SAC comp these days?
Bain & Company I received an offer to join Bain & Company for SF office but due to family reasons, I will have to stay in the South Bay. Given Bain’s local staffing model, it will be challenging for me to commute to SF and back. Is it possible to be transferred to the palo alto office/is that office fully functioning or does it mainly serve as a hub for partners and research?
Bain & Company Is anyone else getting their application to Bain & Company pushed backed?
As of yesterday, even though I applied in May, and that while they liked my application, they will not be considering me till early 2023.
This is the second time they pushed back their consideration... 😞

you should get offers then decide. I would take bcg
This. I’m not sure why you wanna “choose” something you haven’t had yet.
BCG. Implementation is a much narrower career path.
Uh I’m not being insistent... just sharing what I’ve observed. I don’t have a dog in this fight. Anyone can get staffed on anything given the right sponsorship.
Treat it as BCG Toronto vs McK New York. Being Ops or MI or M&S or generalist doesn’t really impact pay, promotion, or projects. Also, it’s not really a decision until you have offers 🙃
I’m aligned to ops but have done <30% of my work in Ops. Done lots of marketing & sales and growth strategy so... it’s also up to the individual.
Also MI here. Actually would love to be on a nice chill late stage implementation case but keep getting matched with strategy ones. Can confirm no one cares that much about the practice alignment with staffing
Implementation is typically a very good relative WLB, if that is a priority
I personally love implementation/ops work. You get to meet a lot of great people on the road and really work with the client
Curious if being in Implementation track vs. generalist track doesn’t impact projects, pay, or promotion, why do you guys even have these two tracks in the first place?
Coach
The idea is that ~50% of your projects will be implementation, and the rest can be whatever, but in reality this is very flexible. Also you would obviously have more implementation based resources, training, etc.
