I applied to a job opening on Accenture site on Nov. 16. Around Dec 16, my profile got rejected, without any calls or emails. I was told that I could apply only after 6 months. Hi, I am French.
If you look for an english soeaking role, you should target roles in CaC40 sized firms.
If in consulting, you should look for international projects.
If looking for an internal role, you will need to speak French fluently. But being a native English speaker will be a huge plus considered the average firm interns level in English ;-)
That tip is free :P
Try going directly to a company's website. Many large US companies have affiliates in France so you may see more posts. Most offices use English in the day to day (as their staff is usually international) but the ad won't specify so if the ad is in English, assume that to be the case. Also be aware that as part of French taxes, companies are required to contribute up to 800€ each year to a professional development fund and as a foreigner, you can use it for language classes. So you will learn quickly once you get here.
I shall look at this as well. I am here in France since a year and have a work visa, but it's been really challenging with the language, although I've learnt till level A2 and have been comfortable speaking and understanding so far this year. Sorry, if I wasn't clear, I will update my post as well
I live in Paris and am not fluent--not even close. I recently changed companies but interviewed at many French companies in the process. None required fluency. Most companies here--even small startups--employ people from across the EU so the in-office language was English. Also France gives you an annual stipend for career development that as a foreigner you can use for language classes so you get fluent quickly. If the ad is written in English, go for it. Unless the job says fluent French req, assume it's not. Now when it comes to living in France, that's a different story....:-)
