Been passed over for promotion twice. Motivation is waning fast. Do I stick it out and hope for the best, or start looking elsewhere?

Promotion to Aso? Passed over twice, how long have you been an analyst for?

like

1. If you have been passed over twice, what are the reasons for that? Are those reasons covered now for this year, and if so, I would stick it out this year to see what happens. And if not, you still got work to do. Obviously if the reasons are covered and you still get passed over this year, I would then consider moving on.
2. How are your ratings for the past 2 years? If you have been consistently exceeding expectations, looks like chance is still there. If your last rating is met expectations obviously you haven’t gone above and beyond to be considered.

The best is to have that open communication with your manager and higher ups. Make sure that they are aware of your goals and support you for it. Tenure doesn’t mean anything if you are not performing. So make sure the promotion criteria boxes are checked off and that you are the best candidate amongst your peers to be considered.

like

You should have already started looking the first time promotion skipped you

How long have you been there? Isn’t that normally the sign to leave?

How long have you been there? I would jump ship after 2 years.

Looking for some advice on a couple of offers I have.

The first offer is for an Account Executive position at a smaller company with a base of $50k and another $20k in OTE.

The second offer is for a BDR position at a larger and faster growing company with a base of $60k and another $20k in OTE. Also some stock options but they aren’t public yet.

I have 2 YOE as a BDR and think I could succeed in either position. Both have hybrid work set ups. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated! Thanks.

Hi all, looking for advice.

I'm a technical writer with background in the hardware and healthcare industry. What would be a better option for me, pivoting into software tech writing or project management.

Which one pays better/is better (any advice appreciated, must be fully remote role)

If software tech writing, does anyone have advice on how to break into a role or learn what it takes to become one?

For PM, I got a cert (not PMP) and am trying to decide which of these two I go with.

For expert witnesses/lawyers

I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?
