PSA: With tax season is around the corner I just wanted to share that CashApp (Square) allows you to e-file individual Federal return and 1 state return for free (with NO income limit), and the best part is it supports ALL essential forms for stocks like 1099s and Sch D (gain loss on stock including crypto). DM if you need a ref code

Ridesharing will prevail in the future but when Tesla, GM, Waymo start their own autonomous ridesharing services, Uber and Lyft will have lot more competition. Same as what’s happening to Netflix with Disney and HBO starting their streaming services
You’re better off buying bitcoin than Uber stock. Slack could be nice.
And you’re better off never buying individual stocks unless your last name is buffet or dalio
*none of the above is investment advice
better off buying Bitcoin than any stock*
Actually on the long run they will either both never make money or Uber will make a little
Also don’t invest based on news
Alright fair points, but incomplete. 2 gaps in the reasoning.
1 ride sharing is not a country play, it’s a city play (the economics of Uber in nyc are not like the economics of Uber in Delhi)
2 there are absolutely no moats. The success of left is a demonstration of that - with countless other successful copy cats
Ride sharing will always be there, but competition and increasing productivity will commoditize it to hell. If there are any profits left they’ll go to the drivers not the companies.
Zoom still a good buy imo - decent product, current rev and sizeable market to grow into
Start here, there more to the fundamentals of it, but this is a good start

I have both uber and Lyft. The good thing about these companies are that they will grow over the long run. I would go with lyft more tho due to the level of negative news from uber
I disagree, we can all agree that ridesharing is something that will be here for years to come. There is still potential for these companies based off of the countries that they have not yet expanded too and also those that still decide to use cabs and other alternative methods. I’m not saying invest purely on news but knowing that uber has negative news coming out every few months, that negatively affects the stock price in the short run
