Deloitte experienced hires, who all received written offers and in process of visa/ onboarding, have you heard back anything about hiring freeze? Or recruiter asked you to delay joining date?
My visa got submitted couple of days back and waiting for decision. When I reached out to recruiter to give her an update and mentioned once there’s decision will discuss on the start date before putting my 2 weeks, she mentioned “Yes, we should talk before you put notice” - Am I overthinking? I am seeing stellar returns and extremely low expense ratios but apparently since they're quantitatively managed algorithms, they don't account for things like corona for example.

I like your current choice. With the American Express Blue card, you earn 6x MR points up to $6k. If you spend $5.5k annually, you're earning 33,000 MR points valued by TPG at about 2¢ each, or $660.
$660-$95 = $565 net.
With the same spend, the free version of this card would have netted you $330 of MR points (grocery earnings are only 3x), so you're coming out about $235 ahead by sticking with your current choice.
@SPM, the card you are referring to does not earn MR. It earns cash back. $5.5K in annual spend will result in $330 cash back.

Amex Gold
I use the Uber credit for Uber eats pickup so that’s a free lunch (or at least $10 worth) with no extra fees once a month. I also use the dining credit at the Cheesecake Factory. It says no gift cards under the dining credit but you can buy them in person and they’ll reimburse it ($10 a month). That’s $240 there. This basically makes up the fee for me but may not be worth it for you. It’s 4x back of groceries up to like $25k I think which is way more than I spend. I think it’s worth it but you have to run the numbers for you to see if the annual fee is worth it.
SavorOne is 3% and you can convert them to miles with a venture card as well. Also you can use the Amex credits for Grubhub and Uber eats pickup, if you do takeout. Might not make up for the whole $240, but may give some extra value to make the math work.

Your current setup likely makes most sense (SPM1 did a solid job assessing it 🤝). I have to gold as suggested previously and find the fee pays for itself if leveraging the credits for takeout options. My spouse and I don’t do much delivery, but will occasionally do takeout and the grub hub + Uber credits cover the expenses we were already making.
But if you’re not in that boat, current setup is pretty solid unless your spending is going to change
I do use amex blue until we max it out and then I use amex gold for the rest of the year. I love amex gold though with 4x on dining and 3x on airport travel and the uber credit (which we use on uber eats) + dining credit (which we use on grubhub) it pays itself off. Would love to give you a referral!

Both the Chase freedom cards have a referral intro offers for 5x on gas and groceries. Obligatory “I’m happy to give a referral”

Citi Custom Cash gives 5% on 1 category up to $500/month. I put almost $500 on the card every month for grocery store trips.
Note that Costco and Walmart don't count, I have a general cash back card for those
