It’s not Venture X. People hawk the card because of the referral bonus. I have the card, it has its uses, but the answer is still Sapphire Reserve (if you priority is points earning) or Amex Plat (if your priority is experiences)
Rising Star
But agree, that’s the combo I largely use — toss in the Freedom for quarterly bonuses and Amex Gold for the food delivery/grocery spend
Amex plat if you have the corporate card so you can get 150 off the annual fee
Saw this and called Amex immediately lol. S/o all of y’all for saving me $150 on the annual platinum fee!
The best bonus is the next sign up bonus. If you set a strategy to get a new card every month or two, you’ll find the rewards game much more fulfilling.
We just covered 11/19 nights and our business class flights on Etihad by using 774k combined points. We could have covered the other 8 nights too, but we’re staying at 4 Season/Six Senses and sadly there aren’t points options.
That’s only possible through multi-card signup offers and works even better if you have a significant other who can play the game.
Damn, impressive. I’m curious if getting a card every couple months will impact your credit score?
Capital One Venture X, $395 fee but you get back $400 in statement credits and miles each year, so you make $5. Other benefits too. DM for referral or specific questions!
$300 in flight booking credit, $100 for tsa/global entry (only for first year). Every year you renew, you get the same $300 flight credit AND 10k miles
Amex Hilton Surpass.
If you travel frequently and want lounge access Amex Platinum is the best. Best lounge access, global entry credit, clear credit, hotel credit, airline credit, it can’t be beat for travel.
If you don’t travel as frequently or want a lower annual fee but want some lounge access I’d recommend chase sapphire reserve - priority pass, $300 travel credit (probably the credit card with the most vague “travel” bucket, which is nice). Lyft premium, and all the insurance. Both have their perks.
Yea priority pass is really only helpful outside the US. Amex Platinum lounge access is dominant domestically.
CSR. Most bang for your buck!
the key to this game is signup bonuses.. and the inks are the way to go..i wrote a massive post in this.. search the thread for ink
DIY to earn 500,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards (UR)? Below is the math on how great the Business Ink offers are (and NO - you don't need a formal business!)
Below are the spend requirements:
6000$ spend = 75,000 UR
12,000$ spend= 190,000 UR
18,000$ spend = 315,000 UR
24,000$ spend = 420,000 UR
Spend 12k/24k on office supply categories (gift cards ;)) and that’s an additional 78,000 UR for a total of
498,000 UR points!
More Instructions inside!
Pre Requisites:
1. Be under 5/24- this means you can't have opened 5 personal credit cards int eh last 2 years across all banks!
2. You have a significant other living in the same address that you can refer to open new cards with and combine your points (You can also do this with a friend and just split the points separately!)
3. You need to have a Sapphire Product (either the Reserve, Preferred, or the Business Ink preferred)
Method:
1. Message me for your FIRST Chase Ink Busines Card (CIU or CIC) referral and to answer any and all your questions (I really appreciate it :)). After approved, spend 6k and get your 75k UR
2. Refer your same address significant other to on of the Chase Ink products (CIU or CIC) and have him/her open the card. Spend additional 6k and now you have a total of 190k (75k +75k +40k for referral)
3. Have your significant other refer you back to the chase ink product you don’t have. Spend additional 6k and now you have a total of 310k (75k + 75k + 75k +40k +40k)
4. Refer your significant other for the chase ink product he/she doesn't have. Spend additional 6k and now you hav ea total of 420,000k (75k +75k +75k+40k +40k +40k)
5. Spend 12k of total 24k on office supply stores on the CIC cards (you can buy gift cards here :)). You are at 498,000 points!!!
1 additional note: It may be good to wait 30 days between appplying for the 2nd ink card on the same account. So order could be P1 CIC, P2 CIU, 30 days, P1 CIU, P2 CIC
Bonus:
If you are feeling really bold and ambitious (and you have the spend), you can add in the Chase Ink Business Preferred as well!!! I would wait 90 days after above to do this addition!
15k spend > 140k UR (100k UR + 40k referral ) -95 annual fee
30k spend> 280k UR (100k +100k +40k +40k) - 95 additional fee.
If you spend that 30k on travel only - that’s an additional 90k points!
Total UR opportunity is….almost 900k Ultimate rewards! That could be almost 9 Round Trip business class trips to Europe if you have the SPEND!!
AMEX PLATINUM! The lounge access is clutch and comes in handy- EVERYTIME!

Venture X is still a pretty competitive card. I’ve enjoyed playing with it this year. If anyone else needs a working referral link, here’s mine: https://capital.one/3ZBevfi.
