What's everyone hoping to get for Christmas? I got my present early: five months of billable work to start off 2016.
How accurately do you guys charge your billable time? Not asking due to overcharging. Asking because too lazy to keep up.
this email though– "...busy season to be defined as 9/12 to 12/31. based on client needs, may extend to 3/31. seniors/staff 50-55 billable hours." bc 6 mo of BS should be acceptable... 🙋🏼🔫
What are everyone's thoughts on firm activities/professional development work that you do outside billable hours? Anyone else feel that most are a complete waste of time?
15 minutes after the fire alarm went off at client building and as our team stands outside the building the first thing our SM tells the team- "remember all this is billable time."

KPMG folks, if you log 8 hours as PTO on a given day and then also log billable hours on the same day, will that inflate your adjusted utilization %?
2,158 hours contracted a year. Tax season: 55 hour week minimum with 90% billable time. You?
Excluding doctors and lawyers, do you think that it is fair to say that working as a consultant is a lot more demanding that many other business jobs? (Billable hours, 24/7 availability, etc..)
Is there a policy for charging billable hours on the weekend? Feel like I should be able to bill 1.5x+ for having to work on the weekend
Just had a SM call and ask to move over 2 weeks of billable work to a PRD code because the project is over budget. Just checked and this will put me just at 89% utilization for year end (cont.)
Question: You're working as a freelancer. And have to travel for the job. Do you include those hours that you are traveling as billable hours or only the next day when the job starts?
The anxiety doesn't stop. Project restricted to 40 billable hours, but have to work tomorrow because we just have too much to do. Overworked and underutilized. Eff me.
Does anyone count the time required to complete client specific expenses as billable time? It just took me 2 hours to complete 3 weeks worth of expenses!
How often are you full time on a semi traveling project, and your pml pulls you into his side projects without any billable hours 😑 so dang unethical! side stuff is in addition to your 100% project

I’m female Manager level advisory professional. I am rolling off a project soon and was setting expectations on which meetings I’ll be joining. I’ve had stellar feedback from my engagement lead over the last 9 months and the client. My day to day manager (male) included as part of his response “not sure if someone has talked to you about doing ‘double duty’ - if you’re not actively participating in a meeting you can work on other stuff.” Poll: is this mansplaining? Something else?
Lately I’ve thinking about whether the case interview format is the best way to interview someone. Do most people think it’s the best way to interview? Am I just tired of asking, interviewing people?
Been single for 26 years. With covid, it’s going to be 27. Meanwhile there are kids half my age getting into relationship. Damn what’s wrong with me :(
So I’m getting recruited for a position at Deloitte where I meet maybe 25% of the requirements. Didn’t even do a phone screen, but got an email from the recruiter saying the team wants to meet me for an hour long interview. Has this happened to anyone before?
Anyone has recommendations for pet insurance? Dogs specifically, if it makes a difference? Do you really need one? First time owner.
Anyone seen this Curtis Ray guy? Selling an “MPI” vehicle? My financial advisor says he should be in jail and the whole house of cards they sell relies on the market going up at all times. That said, I think there’s something to the idea of whole life insurance buying call options on the sp500. What are your thoughts?
What is the Best approach for when a recruiter asks you what you salary expectations are ? Ask what range is for position and go for higher part of band if they provide ? How much higher should you shoot above your actual salary expectation so you can negotiate later ?
Anyone interview at KKR Capstone and know what the first round interview usually entails? Is it case based or..?
Often heard: MBA new hires tend to struggle in Consulting compared to peers who started out of undergrad and climbed up to the same level. However, MBAs tend to do better than experienced peers in Manager level and up... Is this true in your experience? And why do you think that is?
After three weeks of being on the beach doing nothing + three weeks of vacation, finally got pulled into some BD work. Pretty sure I forgot how to work.
