Booz Allen Hamilton I’m getting unclear feedback about the SIG team at BAH and was wondering if anyone knows more about the group. Do they mostly work on internal R&D or customer projects? What is the culture like in this unit? I know that’s broad, but any insight would be helpful.

Nah it's mostly client facing... you could work on a SIG owned client project or get "loaned" out to another group's project. Since the point of SIG is the advanced analytics group you just get staffed on whatever case has a need and fits you.. when I was in the SIG I worked on both scenarios.. also there are internal projects but again felt most people worked on client facing work.
The SIG itself doesn’t have the answers to these questions as they were a group created to satisfy modular client needs stratified across all other verticals mainly to support AI/ML/DS work. I’m DMI in DS/ML and I have to work with them often as we use their bench to staff all that work like other verticals do. Many of their Principals are new to the firm and cause more issues than create support leaving their people without proper management and staffing. All the people who’ve been on my projects from their leave after a year or two for industry. They do have a higher payband due to their skill sets, competitive nature and modularity though. Great for a good time, but not a long time from what I’ve seen.
