No you should not. It will be the worst move ever 🙄
OP, I have worked for Booz a couple times now and the culture was good in my experience. I worked in the SIG last time so it provided a little difference experience than the market teams. Booz is not an up or out company and will happily let you stay at whatever level ours comfortable. The work/life balance was great as well. Not sure what your skills are but be prepared to network and figure out where they plan to put you. One piece of clarity I would ask for is whether they have a position lined up or if you’re a capability hire. All in all, seems like an easy decision to take it. Worst case you move on in a year or so
EY3 I will tell u what OP should do. Take the DAM money. It will take him 4 years to make that if he stays at D
Why wouldn’t they just bring you in as a lead associate? Yellow flag
I think you’ll be OK assuming federal, and with a high demand skillset, but be extra careful about staying billable.
I’ve seen “bubbles” in the past where skill demand goes from white hot to cold over the course of a few months. It’s great to be at the top of the market for comp, just make sure it doesn’t become a liability.
How am I a manager making so much less than this?? What have I don’t wrong in my life. What god did I anger??
^WOAH
Just inquire a lot about the team you’ll be joining. When I left BAH, so did my entire non-leadership team bc there were no promotions in sight, we worked for a horrible partner, and we were all stuck on the same client forever. In that situation I could see them overpaying to try to get people in the door and keep them around, but I don’t know if it’d be worth it bc everyone hated the job
Also, FWIW, I worked at BAH 7 years ago...according to LinkedIn, my Lead Associate and Senior Associate are still there and were never promoted...it’s not a company I’d ever go back to
C3...which Partner?
Seems very high for an associate. I loved my time at Booz Allen though and wish you the best
SA2 10 years
10 years experience at 170k sounds about right to me! Congrats OP
I agree with you D3.
Yes take it for sure. Accenture won’t get you too this level for a long time
Very high for an Associate. It’s more than I make as a Lead Associate, though I have seen other LAs make high 190ks. Is the work commercial, where it’s really salary plus some location bonus? They do $30k-$40k location premiums for MENA iirc.
Ultimately do you like the work/project you are slated for and do you like the person/client you will work for? If it’s interesting work, go for it. In this market, if you leave on good terms, most employers welcome you back with open arms

Found out I’m 20% below MRP in salary and some of my team is at higher salary than me. Should I invest in the conversation with boss or forget it and pursue external offers ?
I would say take it and no regrets. As an ex deloitte manager, you can always go back if you don’t like it but don’t turn down the pay increase. It’s not like drugs were you get an addiction and can’t back track. Worse case leave in a year or 2 but everyone seems to agree that the salary bump is difficult to achieve in 3-4 years at deloitte with a promotion. You’ll be kicking yourself in the butt.
Op I get notification but apparently we haven’t heard from you. Did you accept the offer?
I don't know how Booz is internally as a company or how compensation and levels work.
What kind of consulting do you do?
