Why would anyone tell you on the weekend?
I’ve had over a dozen offers throughout my career. None have been over the weekend. Don’t stress out too much!
Rising Star
The typical routine : partners like knocking on the front door of the chosen ones between 9pm -1am on Saturday night equipped with flowers and champagne . Than the 1 hour long ceremony of issuing the offer commences .
Rising Star
I know exactly how you feel . Typically the single error is not as important as you might think . There are gazillions of other factors in the game .
You won’t get a response over the weekend. You’ll hear back either way by mid next week. When I heard back, it was the Wednesday after the Friday I interviewed. Relax, and enjoy your weekend :)
Dude, I waited for two weeks and then got an offer. Don’t read into the timing, rejections and acceptances are communicated with no particular pattern. Good luck!!
I was called by the OL when I got my offer, and I think I shrieked at him like I’d won the lottery.
Truth is, as you probably guessed, it depends.
After my Friday interview, I got the partner call on Saturday (not BCG though). My friends at different firms either got Saturday calls or the following week.
Different strokes for different folks, or partners.
Partners are people. They will call when they get time. There is no pattern in Sat/Mon. At times they might even get caught up in something urgent and won't get back to you till mid/end next week.
Typically if interviews happened on friday, the decision meeting might happen on Friday or Monday. So already it depends.
Then if the decision was taken on Friday (usually at like 5:30pm), I would be told it’s ok to call as soon as possible. So technically possible to receive a call on the weekend. But we also have a life, sometimes a family, and may not want to make work calls on the weekend. So while I understand this is a big deal for you and you’re eagerly waiting for my call, us not having the expectation to work on the weekends is a good thing for your future career with us :)
Then sometimes, the decision can be taken even later for example if another candidate only has their interview the following Tuesday and we want tl review that batch of candidates together.
So all this to say - it really depends! Best of luck.
