Would like to know specifically about Queer inclusion at SocGen Societe Generale. What is the attitude of mangers and HRs towards treating LGBTQ identifying candidates? Is company really inclusive or it’s just a lip service? Considering an offer with the company but being an out and proud Queer woman, super anxious and concerned.

The ask…

I continue to receive countless asks to speak on panels, keynote events, and sit on juries. When asked, my response always starts as follows:
“Thank you for reaching out. If I attend this event, I ask that 13% of all others included in this event are Black. 13% represents the total percentage of Black people in the US, and this should be a simple and fair ask, to ensure that this event is diverse. If you find this to be a difficult ask, I have a list of 20+ individuals that you can reach out to, in order to help find this talent.”
My list is only junior and mid-level talent. This is to make sure that we are creating more opportunities for those that need it.
This very simple ask changed the landscape of several events I took part in. There were only 2 events that could not meet this ask; One of them made it to 12% the evening before I had to speak, so I pulled out of the event entirely.
Anyone can make this ask. I have non-poc friends that have made this very request.
If they can’t meet this ask, DO NOT ATTEND the event. This is not a difficult requirement to meet.
