Can folks from PwC share how exactly your all remote model works? So, an employee opting for remote works with any team across time zones ? Or across states in same time zone? Also, how do you staff on / find a project? Are there people working totally with teams outside their office, as say nobody or few in their own group/ office opted for remote model? Would that be true?

You in theory could be working with people in any time zone in the US and work your own working hours. Nothing changes with how you are staffed when remote or flex, in that deployment assigns what clients. I’m flex and I don’t work with anyone in my home office because my group is all on the east coast.

like

So, there is flex schedules too. Which is kind of my preference as well as it’s hard for parents of young kids to be available at the standard 8-5, all time schedules. So, tell me is remote & flex 2 different options or one can have both?

I’m fully remote and work from home. You can be assigned to any teams in the sector to which your assigned, regardless of location. Our deployment teams are primary mechanism for staffing, but staff can reach out and ask about opportunities elsewhere. My entire team is remote, a few close to each other but mostly spread across the US, some have moved to different locations. Those close to each other meet up periodically but most of the time, we aren’t in the office, and we periodically have to travel to client sites. DM if you want to learn more.

Fully remote (technically “hybrid”) and work from home. See protected time in morning and evening for getting kids to daycare and then dinner to bedtime. Plug in early or late as necessary when it’s needed. Work efficiently as hell throughout the day to make it work. I’ve yet to go into the office. My teams are completely remote and clients everywhere from west coast to Western Europe, with extended global teams. I wouldn’t have made the switch to PWC if this wasn’t possible. M2 level.

Throughout my career, I have worked at both “traditional” and “digital” shops. My current agency would fall under traditional but also offers digital services. Our process, roles and skillsets seem way outdated but I wasn’t sure if it was just my opinion or if this is just how it works. For example, we have no CTO or tech leads. Our digital producers feel more like project managers than actual producers. Account Management is just traditional, no real digital knowledge. Feels layered and dated.

Torn as how to request off as an S3. Could materialize to nothing but could be good for reconnecting.

Just want your suggestion on this to help me decide.
I've been working in QA team for big data project and recently I've got offers from Startup and service based MNC as data engineer for the role of Data Engineer.
I've not worked on the actual development of ETL batches till now but I want to learn and grow gradually.

What kind of organisation would be best for me considering my mental health as well because I take too much stress ?

Thanks 🙏

I would like some advice here. I currently work as an HRBP for a large company and have been with this company for over 2 years. The current company culture is not great, and I’ve been looking for outside opportunities.
I was offered a role at a smaller company that just announced it is being acquired by a large company, however they agreed that they will be operating independently.
Would it be incredibly stupid to start a new HR job at a company currently going through an acquisition?
