The expectation is that you’re taking notes - id rather a staff re ask me a question rather than assuming but if you’re not taking notes that’s an issue
@PWC2 if you get this triggered about notes, you're the type of person I would ignore verrrrrry quickly...
My biggest pet peeve is staff that ask the same question multiple times instead of writing down the answer the first time. First offense or two, fine but after multiple it gets extremely frustrating.

If you stay in public and move up, save this post you made and reflect on it 2-3 years from now...you’ll probably feel a lot differently lol.
Lol this is so true
Then maybe you should start with “I know I should have notes on this but I can’t find them, please help me.” Wtf kind of mentality is this
One way to get ahead of this type of response that I taught to my staff and seniors is to ask the question and describe what you’ve already done to try and answer it - e.g. “Hey Senior, I went back through my notes, and I checked the X and Y online resources but haven’t been able to nail down the details of the blah blah thing. Can you remind me what the backstory was?”
Not only does it save them from saying something that will piss you off, it also demonstrates that you’ve already tried to answer for yourself. It also holds you accountable to an extent so you have try and look before you ask. Your senior may be trying to remind you of different resources, but sounds likes it’s definitely not being delivered right.
Lastly - remember this feeling for when you’re a senior. It will help you to not become what you can’t stand.
They could be giving reference points so you won't have to ask a third and fourth time. Plus they might not remember the event extremely well and want you to go to your notes for a more accurate answer.
Or just try harder instead of playing the blame game. I'm sorry, but I don't think you earned your 4.0 in your MACC program by asking the same question twice & the teacher having to redo all your work anyways.
Enjoy your first and last busy season OP
I know it's annoying when a staff asks you something that clearly should have been noted or remembered and it's a recurring theme. But coming to my senior asking "hey did you mean X and Y" or "could you clarify something for me", why waste time lecturing me on how I should remember this tiny little detail from this hour long call I had with you when you could literally make it easy on both of us and take 2 seconds to give me the answer
If you’re doing this once in a while fine. Not everyone is perfect but if you’re doing this everyday because you’re not paying attention and taking notes than you need to work on looking into the issue first and trying to take notes during calls
You’ll never make it as a senior. Nice attitude first year.
Judging by all the people above me up to partners with shittier attitudes, I'll probably fit right in
I only say this if the question has been asked multiple times, not like twice
Or if I have to repeat EVERYTHING I’m saying multiple times. Like yes, lots of things coming at you. I know it’s hard. It’s hard for all of us. Take. Notes.
Nah it’s annoying when people ask the same question multiple times. I will say that to both staff and managers.
