iX and Strategy are the highest paying at IBM. I’m a senior consultant in VCHOL making 140k. Work is dependent on client… could be digital experience work or process improvements. Some staff aug.
Ibm has no bonus, so negotiate a salary you’re happy with for at least 2 years. Came in with a masters and 1.5 years
I will warn ya, asking "what is the work like for a business transformation consultant?" Is a lot like asking "what is life like for an american?"
Every single campus hire that comes in is tagged as a "business transformation consultant". You could be glorified PMO. You could do super interesting work in ES/iX with product strategy, answering the 0-1 question of WHAT product to build. You could be a Salesforce implementation BA. Literally anything.
Are there any details in the job posting? Are you interviewing for the associates program straight out of school? Need more details to answer this question.
So they use the "associate consultant" designation for campus hires, and then the progression is associate > Sr > managing > Sr managing > AP > Partner
"Business Transformation Consultant" is a job family, not so much a role, per se. It's a back-end term - we'd never say to a client "yes, we can get you 3 business transformation consultants".
