Just curious. Excluding business recovery / restructuring teams that are more counter-cyclical. What TS group do you think is the least cyclical? Valuation / modeling? Accounting advisory? Then lastly how “cyclical” do you view them?

Any thoughts around how to use M&A tax skills for the better good? I’m a CPA and originally got into this for a stable / interesting job, but in the long-term I’d like to do something that either influences drafting of tax legislation or helps the public (however naive that may sound). Perhaps I’ve gotten too introspective during the pandemic. Don’t really want to go back for a JD and aside from keeping a roof over my head I’m not very motivated by money. FDD 🐠 I will be promoted to audit SM in October, however looking to transfer to the FDD practice.
