Is this a fuckin joke
Modest 60k? Yes. But not a 60k that flashes people.
A few years ago I lived in small one bedroom in the UES on $42k.... sure, I spent more on rent than I'd like, but just keep your needs versus your wants in check and living off credit cards will screw you later.
Does no one have student loans? 👀👀
Yes. Moved here and started at grey with this progression- 35,45,50,65. I'm living like a king now! (Yet still in debt...)
Completely possible. I live on ues with 1 roommate, go to equinox, and have good social life that allows me to buy clothes and take trips as well
Yes. 60 is possible if you go to bed every night by 9. The way I see it- every hour later you spend out needs another 10-15k a year. Then one magical day you are making 150k a year and you want to be in bed by 9. At this point you are probably hooked up and pregnant. Then you start making some serious coin. By the time you are 50 you are making between 250 and 300... but one problem. You hate your job and long for how awesome life was when you found some joy in your job and friends in your colleagues (and only made 60.) How dumb it was to complain. And how sweet life was celebrating the little victories of paying rent, getting laid, and staying out past 9
Lmao most my friends make 45 lol and they are living fine
You spend what you make. Get a roommate and live the dream.
Yeah, comfortably even.
Yes but get a roommate. UES, LES, LIC, Harlem, Hoboken and some parts of Brooklyn all possible
I did this at 24. Do-able fairly comfortably if your rent is under 1300 and you arn't going out with a $60 bar tab more than 3 times a week
I make 80k and live in a 3 bedroom with my boys paying 950 each
@GMR1 - I do. Needs versus wants. My paycheck goes to (granted, I make more now but same philosophy applies) to following in order: rent, student loan, savings (I also save pre-taxes), groceries, fun.
