I think it's more about not wanting to feel exposed/embarrassed by putting themselves out there. I know a lot of lurkers are just shy or more introverted people.

Yeah I agree with you I feel like some people might feel like they don't have anything to add and they just want to see what's going on and see that others can relate to them
