So its almost 2 yrs for me and starting to feel like I should have some letters after my name. Looking for a designation that is worth having but not intense as the CFP
Anyone taking the CFP course via College of Fin Planning? Trying to figure out last day to take the test.
Best study guide for CFP?
I’m 9 years in. Currently taking the educational requirement for CFP through American College. I feel like I can’t focus because I am not really learning anything. Any tips to keep eyes on prize?
We are looking for a CFP candidate who has completed the CFP Program but not yet licensed. Preferred that they have their licenses and a book of clients and 3-5 years experience. Call us 6789946448
Wondering what a typical CFP salary is in Florida. Firm is looking for 5years plus experience, income planning heavy and high net worth clients. More on the planning side and service. I have 9 years in the industry and CFP for 4.
Hey Fish, passed my first CFP Course Exam this morning. Feeling great but can’t share with co-workers, so please share my joy!
Recently acquired my CFP. I’m just starting in the industry and relatively fresh out of college. More or less working as an associate for senior advisors with a focus on portfolio management & trading for them. I think I’d like to go the designation route to cover CE for the CFP and the APMA caught my attention as I see other younger advisors getting it. Is it worth the money/time? I’d like to dive deeper in portfolio management education. I understand CFA and/or CIMA would be the most valuable.
CFP, asking advisors out more than five years... has it really made a difference in your career growth/AUM and how clients perceive you? I guess I’m asking, was it really worth it?
I’m considering leaving Public Accounting to become a Certified Financial Planner. Have any of you other fishies looked into this? What are some things to consider?!
Does anyone here hold a non-CFA designation (CFP, CAIA, FRM etc.) and what kind of role/position do you have?
Is it unrealistic of me to sit for the CFP exam in March if I start studying next week? I have three years of experience as an FA and I plan to study 2 hrs/night Mon-Thurs and all day on Sat/Sun
Just finished the CFP exam and feel like I absolutely bombed it. Is that normal? Every question had 2 legit answers. Brain is absolutely fried. Bourbon and cigar, please
Out of curiosity, what designations do you have? CFP, CFA, CIMA, ChFC, etc. Do you feel that your having, or not having, a designation has put you at an advantage/disadvantage?
If anyone out here is a rising CFP and looking for their next opportunity near or around the Minneapolis, MN area, DM me! I had an awesome conversation with a firm yesterday who is looking to fill a junior advisor role (succession opportunity down the road). This sounds like a great opportunity for the right person!
My company offered to pay my way through the CFP program, on the contingency that I will pass and also stay with them for 10 years after the fact. Is this normal? It seems unfair to make me pay them back down the road if I decide to take a better opportunity. It’s a small business that is worried I will leave.
Looking to expand my knowledge beyond basic portfolio and planning but really not into full commitment of cfp. My junior advisor will be getting it. That said, what is a good way to learn/designation

Been a miles hoarder for my whole life (United, American, Delta). I just learned about fidelity (2% cash back on all purchases/no annual). Seems legit. Any one have experience?
When you are on a longer engagement and your standard of dress decreases as time goes on. Starts off with crisp shirts and slacks and ends with wrinkled shirt under a fleece to hide your lack of care.
Does anyone know if the QR code for airline tickets work if your phone screen is cracked?
My former PM actually told me he rolled off my team because I wouldn't reschedule my PTO. I had this PTO scheduled since June. Another person took 3 weeks of PTO and she was retained. Unethical?
Anyone else enjoying this holiday time on the bench?
