Co is reorg’ing. New boss met w/me for hr (intro)/has never met team/doesn’t respond to email for 8 wks. Schedules call & adds VP to tell me they are moving 1/2 my team. No other info/no heads up. Has made comments about “gathering input from internal stakeholders,” but only met w/1 DR on reorg. Msg has been we are not on the team IMO, but heard we are on the org chart. Yay, but still feels awful… I’ve been reorg’d bf but never like this. Is this normal? Just a bad boss? Thoughts?

What is your understanding of the norms around whose names end up on a brief/complaint/motion papers etc.? I’m a midlevel at an AmLaw 20 firm and have twice been the principal drafter of something only to be cut from the signature block. The associate senior to me is on it despite having done far less of the work. And it’s not because it required a rewrite or something. The filed product is 80-90% my work. What happens if what the employee said is slanderous and a “he said/she said” situation? If you opt to share the feedback with the manager, would the manager have a legal case against the company or former employee?

This is not my wheelhouse so I’m not sure of the answer. If someone is writing a “memoir” and is including me in it, and I DONT want to be in the book, do I have any legal recourse?
