I have both. I have only been turned away once - but also admittedly don’t use PP much. It’s pretty bad lounge-wise in domestic US airports/terminals, and I get the same lounge access abroad most of the time with my Star Alliance status. The $28 credit is extremely legit though if you have enough down time at airports to take advantage. I’m out of SFO so having a Centurion accessible just makes a ton of sense and I don’t doubt I’ll use centurion more going forward, but mostly because of where I travel to and through.
some airports, dia for sure, have airport restaurants you can use your pp at. they give you a 28$ credit for your visit.
CSR is the way to go. PP through Amex no longer gets the $28 benefit.
...away due to capacity is giving me pause. Is this really a thing and how often do PP members get turned away? Do you still get the $28 food credit?
Getting turned away at a lounge does not give you a food credit. The food credit is $28 per person (for you and up to 2 guests) at about 30 different airport restaurants around the country. These restaurants (supposedly) are situated in airports with limited or no priority pass lounges. Check the list to see if there are any where you fly often.
As for which credit card, the Amex is best if you really value centurion lounges and/or fly delta often and can make use of the sky lounges. Other than that the CSR is better and it’s easier to make use of the $300 travel credit
They discontinued the $28 credit for priority pass effective August 1. I have heard conflicting reports of whether this is for all priority pass or just those who get it through AMEX. Worth looking in to
Thank you for the clarification pwc 1!
