I have been reading a few articles talking about how FAANG isn’t as lavish as it used to be. My first question is if that is true? If it is true, my second question is what companies out there have the pay, benefits, and perks like FAANG? My last question is if it is as difficult to get into those companies? I used to be freelance and I miss it so much. The work/life balance was so much better. You don't get caught up in all the office politics and you get more time off to spend with your family (or getting things done around the house or just taking some time for you!).
12-year freelancer here...so much better!

I’ve been freelancing since the pandemic and honestly it’s been hard. This is my second time freelancing (the first was 8 years ago when my daughter was born). I feel the budgets are tighter and there’s more competition. Lots of my freelance friends have said the same thing. It’s a tough time right now. I also feel as a CD it’s a bit harder to find gigs than when you’re more junior. The money is great when you have work but it’s very unstable. Luckily my husband has a well paying job. I do regret quitting my job, and I’m currently looking to go full time again.
Thanks for the honesty- this is what I’m concerned about :/ not sure I can afford to take the risk.
