McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

Run youtube in an open tab. 6 hours of classical music fam.
Just stay in "appear offline" status permanently
Like using a stapler to press down on the space bar 👀
It’s the culture at staff and early senior level. By the time you make manager nobody would ever check this. And by senior manager it would be weird if someone was online all the time. At senior manager you’ll even start intentionally setting it to appear offline even when you are online

Clearly a staff... You are the reason people look negatively upon WFH. Do your job and don't feel guilty/secretive about taking the time you need to take care of personal things.
Bingo
I don't.
^exactly... What do you do if someone actually pings you, because they need something from you? Help your team and be upfront about your availability, if you have other stuff going on, you do you, but if it's a regular work day... Be creative and work
Run a selenium script on a loop
Just change the settings to take longer to move from available to away or check in on your phone consistently
Some great ideas in here. Personally I opened a word doc and propped one of my 2 phones up on the keyboard against the screen of my laptop so that it would constantly type out the random letter it was propped up on
I think the program is called mouse Ziggler
Caffeine is my go to.
K2 - my team doesn’t really care if you’re on skype or not. Frankly most people usually aren’t, and only sign on when during a call someone decides they want to screen share then we’ll all log on
I am curious if this is the culture of the firm or specific project teams to require folks to be online on Skype. Any KPMGers care to shed light too?
Batch file to hit a keyboard key every 60s.
Optical mouse + analog watch. No trail
Just always mark yourself away and then nobody knows the difference. Or sign in on mobile
Just use the Skype for business app and leave yourself online
