CSR. No doubt wtf
Google it
I like my Plamex.
Both. Plat is worth it at $450 with Uber credit, and there's still time to get it before it goes up. CSR is better long-term and for actual spending.
Amex for the 50th time
CSR is worth it for 100k alone. Get it in a branch before the bonus goes away!
This is a dumb question CSR is the obvious choice
Centurion card!
Not trying to be #teamchase but owning freedom and freedom unlimited, at a lower rate of cash back but no AF, and owning a CSR giving the option to convert to Ur and redeem at the higher CSR rate, I think is superior to that Barclays card at 2.2% with an AF. Max out freedom categories for the quarter (much higher than 2.2%), rest of spend on freedom unlimited. Getting into "intermediate points churn game" though.
AMEX
@points4life what are you talking about? CSR gives you $300 travel credit which can go to Ubers as well. Amex platinum only is a $200 credit
They are very complimentary. Platinum is great to "own" (lounges, access to concierge) and buy flights and from small businesses/other deals, CSR is great to earn points. Get the CSP if the double premium AF scares you, though the travel credit, higher earning, and higher redemption offset that for nearly everyone.
Also complimentary in that Platinum is a charge card, CSR a credit card...Both are more or less flexible depending on your situation
K1, you can take advantage of both benefits. They're not mutually exclusive. The perks of platinum are worth what ends up being an effective fee of $50. When that becomes $150 (550-400) it's not with it for me. May be for others.
CSR > Amex platinum in every way. @OP just do your research😉
Any good credit card offers on the platinum?
K1 if you're a Delta flyer Amex is far superior as you get Delta+Centurion+Priority Pass lounge access; CSR only gives Priority Pass
AMEX also includes roadside assistance, purchase insurance (lost/stolen/damaged items covered), TSA Pre and Global Entry credit, status on hotels and car rentals, and lounge access pays for the card in 6 weeks
AMEX dispute process is amazing compared to chase. Got screwed on a Groupon (vendor couldn't fufill obiligations due to too high volume) with chase and they pretty much told me it was my problem. Amex has come through every time on a merchant dispute
K2 CSR has some of those features, and primary rental car insurance too (plat is only secondary unless you pay).
