Currently in public accounting doing SALT, thinking about making a pivot to tax technology. Any insights into this area? What’s the exit opportunities like with tax technology experience?

What the F is tax technology..is it essentially building automations to replace yourself lmao

I know someone who switched when he was about to be promoted to M and he’s still a senior in tax tech almost four years later…

Better WLB since its internal and not client facing, but the exit opps would be limited. Each firm has its own technology/systems, so the knowledge isn’t really transferable like tax compliance would be

I’m moving to LA in 2 months and want to stay in a short term rental before finding an apartment to rent for a full lease term. there is so much I don’t know, and the more I learn, the more I feel I don’t know about the city. Has anyone used any of the furnished short-term rental apartment buildings in LA before? Or should I go with AirBnB/VRBO? Any advice?

Make 6-8% monthly passively

Yieldnodes is a server rental program, NOT a trading investment. It is not related to trading cryptos or currencies in any way.Participants' funds are used to set up servers that operate as masternodes and to stake small volume coins which allow those servers to partake in crypto network activities and generate more coins. The proceeds are shared 85% to participants and 15% to the program (the rental payment).

Layoffs. Most big firms say they're sitting on a conservative pile of cash - which I believe is true - but work will obviously not return to pre-COVID levels in the short term, probably not even in the medium term. Are Biglaw layoffs coming?

First year litigator still waiting for that summer slowdown everyone keeps talking about….at this point I could take 2 months off and still hit the billable target. I was told there would be “ebbs and flows” but this has just been a 9 month barrage with no end in sight

For associates who have lateraled in the last 6 months or so, what made you decide to move? Has your situation improved since moving? I’m a transactional mid-level & I’ve interviewed with some great firms recently. I’m struggling to get excited though…it just seems like no matter where I go I’ll be overworked & under appreciated. Hoping there are some positive stories out there to give me hope. Haha
