Does anyone have any insight into accounting roles at Amazon, particularly in the Arlington/DC area? An Amazon recruiter reached out about accounting roles, but the posts in this bowl are about Seattle. Trying to decide if the culture/wlb/pay is even worth looking into since it sounds like the interview process is intense. Base pay seemed pretty low in other posts, but they were a year old and for Seattle.

I quit my job right after busy season in 2021, took off 5 months, and had no issues finding a position when I was ready. It was a much needed break and I loved it. The break did not hurt my career at all, I think it improved it. I learned I was way underpaid and ended up taking a position that was a $20k increase over my last position.
You’re a manager in B4 Audit. You can get a new job so quickly. It’ll take one month for you to get a job
One week
Ahhh, the burn out is so strong. I feel you.
You can get a job in a week, but the most desirable industry jobs will take months. All my FAANG interviews took 7 weeks minimum.
You're better off just interviewing now and when you get an offer extend your start date as long as you can. I traveled for a month between jobs, my only regret is not trying to extend it even longer
If you're going to jump to a regular role in industry you won't need much advice. If you're chasing a role with an elite company you may find the No Flux Given playbook helpful, it's a roadmap for transitioning through public to industry to land your dream job. It's linked in my profiles. Dm me if you can't find it.
I feel for you though, good luck! Better days are ahead! ✊🙏
Would recommend securing a job first. Labor market has slowed down, and it might take some time to find a good fit. Companirs are being picky (at least the better companies in my area), and interviews take a while. Can you take some extended PTO - a week or two weeks? That might help a little. As far as leaving before busy season, if you don't think you'll ever boomerang, it shouldn't affect your career. You can't time a good opportunity. If you get it, take it.
