Interviews with a private credit / direct lending / distressed real estate group have been going on for 6 weeks and now I’m waiting for the the final decision. They said that they’ll review the case studies and make a decision soon but does anyone know how soon :((( I’m so tired and exhausted and I really want the job so much. Technical was last week and last interview was yesterday. It’s a reputable American company - how likely is it that they’ll make a decision in 2 days?

I talked to a sr. associate in a different office/group to get a better sense of the firm’s vibe and we both really enjoyed our call. He kindly offered to recommend an interview to HR. Is there anything else I can do? Insurance Defense Associate new to group. Just finished first year on the defense side after 6 years on the Plaintiff side, joined 3 weeks before lockdown. WFH with 6 and 2 year old. While billing 2k in a year with kids at home all day is nuts, you will not get better balance in a small pltff firm. Small firm partners are allergic to WFH, and can't afford to be flexible with when an associate gets to their work. The support of a larger firm is what has kept me alive this past year.

Regarding the WSJ article.. Can anyone in PE explain why any pension fund would be interested in buying single family homes? Extremely illiquid, historically follows inflation....
