Just make sure the plane has a changing table in the bathroom. I was on a flight about five years ago that did not and learned real quick how to change an infant in my lap.
Might be good to practice that technique anyway since the bathroom could be occupied or otherwise unavailable.
Definitely get the disposable pads. They don't take up much room and can be a lifesaver.
You shouldn’t change the baby in the bassinet. Get these disposable diaper change pad to do it in the restroom.

Under no circumstances should you change the baby in the bassinet, unless you want to get dirty looks from other passengers. Most flights that give out bassinets will have a changing table in the restroom. If the restroom is occupied , definely a changing pad is a must have. Just make sure you have one hand on the baby at all times when he/she is laying on it.
How long is your flight? If it’s a few hours you could probably get away with changing it right before and then right after the flight. Of course if the baby takes a 💩 all bets are off.
My flight is 14 hours. I'd change the baby in the restroom but those places are always so filthy that I try not to use them as much as possible. Can't imagine taking a baby in there.
I bring sanitizing wipes and clean it up in there before I put my boy down. The table works pretty well.
It’s scary but not as difficult as it sounds, especially with an infant who will easily fit on the changing table. Your bathrooms will almost certainly have changing tables above the toilets that fold down. It’s not a ton of space, but it works for an infant. Consider it a bonding experience. And my wife has always given me huge props for taking the plane changes, so you may get major brownie points for what turns out to be not too big of a deal.
