It’s an interesting question.
On one hand, he may truly believe in gender equality and expect you to pay for half. On the other hand, he may be onboard with your expectation of old-fashioned chivalry.
I suppose the real question is - are you selectively old-fashioned only when it’s financially in your favor?
Point being, open communication about this stuff goes a long way…
M1, maybe where your expectations lie.
I think this depends on the type of person you initiate the date with. I initiated a lunch date last Thursday night with a man for last Friday, he picked up the tab. 🤷🏻♀️

What do you mean invite him in? As in invite him into your home?

Whenever you feel like it (also feel safe)
If you are inviting him in, are you ready to put out?
Obviously
As men, it's in our nature to provide and protect. Usually. Personally it would be difficult for me to ask a lady out then ask her to, or accept her offer to split the check or whatever. If I asked her out it was with the intention of paying for dinner, drinks, babysitter whatever. a lady shouldn't be out anything when she's on a date.
Yes there's the equality crap and all that. "are you too much of a man's man to accept help from a female?" No, that's not the case. It's just not how I was raised.
