Does anyone have experience interviewing with Deloitte Internal Services? I had my final interview a week and a half ago, and received positive feedback throughout. The hiring manager had positive things to say and mentioned they hoped to make a decision by the end of last week. It’s now Friday the week after. The role still shows as “Interviews in Process.” We did discuss potential start dates, but no salary. Any experience with receiving offers for an internal services role? Is this common?

I promise your bounce back will be higher than your fall down.
Rising Star
Day 43 for me. Keep strong, job hunting sucks right now
While I agree most creatives need some kind of humbling, big big kudos to you for taking this opportunity to build and do something for yourself. It’s super easy to just get down on yourself but it’s commendable that your using this time to make healthier habits for yourself long term.
Day 267 (just counted). I’ve found a couple of freelance gigs, but my savings is gone.
Good on you for establishing routines. It helps a lot.
This is my worst fear. Pretty sure I'd be homeless by then ☹️
Wishing you all the luck
Day 3 for me, thanks for the reminder to stay healthy and in a good routine, CD
Stay strong, we’ll make it through
Be gentle with the expectation setting! When I (voluntarily) left a job in mid-Oct years ago, it was so easy for me to set arbitrary deadlines for myself (before Thanksgiving! Before EOY! Before Feb!) and I kept disappointing myself when I missed those deadlines. It always takes longer than you expect. Even in a healthy economy in a hot market with a ton of references/referrals, it took me nearly 3 months to bounce back after being laid off a few years back. Go with the flow, be kind to yourself, give yourself proper weekends, and open yourself up to things you might not normally consider (contract gigs, hourly jobs outside your normal area of expertise, etc). You’ll make it through!
I’m in the exact same situation (I haven’t updated my title ).I hear you. The hardest hits come when you are gaining momentum. Keep rediscovering yourself and working through it . The book Next Beat Job is helping me out . Hopefully this experience will be rewarding in the end for all of us.
When my husband was between jobs a couple of years ago he started delivering pizzas. It let him continue searching/interviewing as needed during the day, and he said he really liked having a scheduled thing to be accountable for, plus a little extra cash was nice. (He pulled in about 2K/mo while he was doing it). He got a fat severance so it wasn’t an economic decision, but honestly breathed a little easier with at least some income.
From my personal experience, never get excited about a job opportunity before you signed the contract; the words don’t mean anything, although I know how hard it is when you actually need a job. Stay strong!
Thank you all. For real. I'll will keep posting once a day as a form of journaling/giving unsolicited updates!
do your head and body a favor and don’t check email while you are working out. schedule your workout time and concentrate on that. sure you can give though to personal projects, watch the news, listen to a podcast but set aside time in your day for different tasks including: outreach to people you know, establishing new contacts, updating your website, personal projects to motivate you, meeting a friend for a walk/coffee/beer and working out.
keep the faith!
