I don’t know if I’ve met anyone truly satisfied with their compensation. On the other hand, I guess that kind of makes sense because it’s probably the biggest factor that pushes me to keep growing. Be honest, have you ever felt satisfied with yours - I'm talking to you, high earners.

I recently received an offer to join a Fortune 500 tax department for a large increase in salary. However, almost everyone on the team has joined in the past 2 years. They say that the previous team underperformed and they are making efforts to double the team. Is this too big of a red flag to ignore? It seems like it could be an opportunity to have input in changes, but the turnover scares me a little.

Interviewing for a consultant position in the DC area what salary range should I be asking for ?
Hello, I received an offer letter as an Associate (consulting) and was wondering what a good starting salary would be in this current market, considering inflation and other factors would be helpful. I have a year of previous experience in freelance consulting (helping small businesses claim covid relief funding). I'm not sure what other information is relevant, so please hit me with what you need to know so I can properly negotiate my starting base and sign on bonus. Thanks.

Why is there such a huge pay difference between IT and Mechanical/auto industries? Many people in IT are getting 3xx salary hikes, but here I am struggling to get more that 20-30% hikes. Sure the skills are much more demand in IT field, but the discrepancy is too much. Is it due to most of the work are outsourced to consultancy/service based companies by the OEM? Or is there simply too much candidates available?
I think we all know that it's a hot market right now and I'm not actively looking but I take a recruiter call here and there. I'd love to share my experience and background and the salary ranges I have seen the last month or so. I have not gotten to an offer but I might be getting close.

Some good news after almost 11 months of applying and interviews and lots of rejections finally got an offer! In NYC small firm, ex big law folks, no billable hours, niche practice area, appearance of forwarded thinking firm, remote till who knows when, emphasis on pro bono initiatives and building book of business. The catch salary. Was making around 140k at last firm with 1800 billable. Offer is 85k and revist to bump to around 100k in several months after review (plus discretionary bonus)
