I just got placed as a business transformation consultant through an early career (MBA) Program at a tech company.

To the consultants out there, are there any good books or prep material you recommend to start readying myself for that type of role? Clearly people saw potential in me for this role if I was placed there but I have this feeling of imposter syndrome so just looking for anything to help me feel more prepared.

My dad is going through a rough time… he feels lonely because he works abroad and lives alone plus him and my mom are currently not on good terms, and in general he’s just not very happy right now. I know he wants to talk and let all this out with anyone… but I don’t feel ready to be listen to him in this situation. My dad has always been super strong and he’s always been that person who knows what do in every situation and I just can’t listen to him talk about how lonely and sad he is..

Have you ever been ghosted by a recruiter that added you as a connection on LinkedIn? I saw an interesting job posting and reached out to the person who posted (the hiring mgr). 2 days later, a recruiter from the company sent me an invite to connect but didn't include a message. 3 days after that, I sent them a message asking for a call to learn more about the role. It's been almost two weeks now of total silence. Why did they send me the invite if they had no plans to follow up with me?

If you had the option, would you enroll your child in preschool or have him continue to stay home with a caretaker? For reference he is almost 3 and has very little interaction with other kids his age. I’m also in Houston where the rate is up at 20% . I do know that bc of the holidays some of the teachers and kids at the schools I’m interested in got covid. I was thinking of starting him first of February.
