Deloitte. I have an offer in process from Deloitte. I had them change my home office as I live on a border and was close to another office. I then realized that state has state taxes that would eat up a big salary chunk. Is that correct even in a hybrid world? Is it all about your home office, the company HQ, or?

After Appraisal, company haven't shared updated offer letter (with new salary), it's been 2+ months now.
If I start searching for new job, will that HR ask about recent offer letter? Or only salary slips are enough?

Some states require you to pay taxes where your office is even when you live in a different state. You’ll always end up owing taxes to your state of residence. Check to see if there is reciprocity — this should be easy to find via google.

No, you’re taxed where you work
Yes I stand corrected: https://tax.thomsonreuters.com/blog/state-by-state-reciprocity-agreements/
DE is not on the list - surprisingly- I would have thought given proximity to DC, like PA they would too. Thanks!
Not a tax guy but from my understanding your taxes are based on where your primary residence is.
Deloitte has a commuting subsidy for this year (may not be extended forever) that covers up to $1,000 of commuting costs.
Ask your tax guy if you want actual answers.
Thank you!!!
So you live in Vancouver and was assigned to Seattle vs. Portland?
Yeah I feel Oregon taxes you if you live in Washington but work in Oregon, which makes sense to me as someone who lived in Portland for many years. Anyway, I think it’s ok to ask.
