All things equal (area of each firm, level), Deloitte will look better and it's not even close.
Worked for both, Deloitte seems to get more recognition when I interview.
I have worked both as well. I agree Deloitte...
Deloitte. I mean, I hear the culture there is awful and worse but IBM isnt that great either
Pro
Not great. No one cares for you here. There’s a reason people say ibm stands for ‘I’m by myself’
In my opinion it’s filled with middle of the pack mba middle management who doesn’t do anything and passes info between juniors and seniors with somehow deducting value and making both sides work more

Hands down Deloitte. The comparison isn’t even close. IBM is in the bottom rung while Deloitte is amongst the top.
We’re you perusing the “companies with the worst culture” list?
Thanks! That’s helpful. Where did you end up if not Deloitte?
Pro
Deloitte for sure. The time at either will have its cultural challenges as noted above, and even may be toxic, but it will position you for much better things down the road
D to the moon.
Depends on who is looking. In Texas i often hear “Deloitte? What do they do? Is it a construction company?”

I live in Texas - people rarely know what consulting is, and those who vaguely know what it is know of Deloitte/B4. They know the B4 better as accounting firms fwiw.

Deloitte
I'd have to say IBM. Sure Deloitte has good consulting but IBM brings in the more tech savvyiness if you're looking for technology roles. Deloitte consulting rarely gives u hard skills that carries you further on a resume besides the name.
Author... it makes a difference but not a huge difference if you are US based. The acquisition of red hat is what IBM is banking on as a game changer but they are essentially too antiquated to change. It will be a hard decade for IBM
