1,000%. I’m honestly shocked at the emotions I feel on a regular day. I used to be more talkative and personable too. Might have something to do with the anxiety though
Yes! That’s exactly what happened to me! 4 years in and I’m numb to the world and anxious AF
Yes, 100%. I recently realized it’s not worth it to live this way. Spend an entire 2 years of my life stressed out and unhappy... about to start looking for a new job and I’m so excited about it!
I should add that my first year I chalked up the feeling to just being in a new environment and a steep learning curve. After the second year nothing really changed, and if anything has gotten worse with the senior promo looming ahead. I’m dreading it. Did some self reflection and decided I’m out! It’s not worth it
Yes. My heart feels like it’s gonna jump out of my throat, but my throat is closed up. Also cannot stop shaking my leg. 😰🙄
I work in my sleep when I’m stressed out. Like it’s almost like I’m in front of my computer and work but I’m asleep. ☹️
YES!! And defensive (probably from nerves) and negative lol. I notice myself complaining and talking about people in ways I never did before college just because when peers vent, I start venting. Trying to catch myself and stop.
I thinking if more of a collaborative approach might work instead of a “rat race” approach.
Yes, and I'm pregnant, so it's a very unhealthy change 😕
I'm constantly nervous about deadlines, work quality, not being fired, not having enough higher-up friends... and it carries over into my home life too. A lot of physiological problems started after I began working in public. I feel like a wreck
SA1, sorry to hear you went through that! I’m praying your baby is happy and healthy!! And enjoy your time off! It’s a special time with the baby and sounds very needed for you right now.
What do you think our firms should be doing to help us?
I’m in this exact situation. Staff 2 here now expected to perform at a senior level, but I’m being given new responsibilities without any explanation. My manager is on tons of other clients and is almost never available. I just don’t know what to do and I feel like even outside of work I’m panicking on the inside
