If you're bored at work try educating yourself on the latest trends within your field, but if your uninspired by your field chances are you'll find this unappealing. Try reaching out to your boss's supervisor and ask if they can mentor you. I personally knew someone who became an assistant director by doing it this way. Another thing you can do is get involved in different organizations within EY. I personally like getting involved in anything that helps me grow as a person, whether it's giving toastmaster speeches or conducting mock interviews to college students for BPN. If this doesn't work for try doing some volunteer work on the weekends. Doing what you're truly passionate about will open opportunities you didn't think were possible. Maybe the position your in doesn't afford you those moments where you can really shine, but that doesn't mean you can't find those outside of EY. I've found that everything you've ever wanted is just outside you comfort zone. That's where you'll find your inspiration. That's where real growth happens.
Omg! I'm feeling the same way!
I lost passion for audit work staff 2 year then stayed till senior 3 year. Senior 2 year I knew I hated the work or at least I didn't love it. Legit could see myself doing the work till senior mgr. Then I networked my way out to another group and I'm a lot happier. Find the next job you want.
