Yes I’m upset and if POC have to get “involved” for things to change maybe your firm doesn’t really embody the values of D&I.
Yeah I understand. I feel like my girl doesn’t truly value it one bit and it’s kind of a let down
I’m not upset by it but I do hope things can change over time. In college (overall) and in my accounting classes specifically there were only a handful of minorities. So I expected it to be similar when entering the workforce after graduation, and it was. The only way I see that changing is if more minorities chose accounting or the other majors desired by recruiters.
Just get involved in recruiting and try to change that.
You cannot change implicit bias by getting “involved”? Subconscious racism doesn’t disappear in the presence of POC, just one humble opinion
