Do companies make us pay for H1B visa processing cost if we leave organisation while the visa process is ongoing?

Wanted to understand what happens in FAANG companies if H-1b visa runs out and there is no I-140 in place to extend visa beyond 6 years. Do they transfer the employee to a non-US office E.g. Canada? Does anyone here been through this scenario?

Should we always keep a backup offer till joining date?

Can I share my current salary compensation (issued by company) with other organisations as they are asking it for generating the offer letter or it will be an issue if I share that ?
