OP - I think the short answer is they might have used to, but it was typically reserved for higher-ranking partners (and this was most likely pre-2008 recession). However, I would say your responses lack maturity and I’m not sure you would be the right fit for tier 1 clubs anyway
Country club dues: Almost never comped at Accenture, Tier 2, or even MBB (except in rare corporate memberships). They’re seen as a personal benefit.
Rounds with clients: usually expensable.
What to negotiate instead: push for a larger BD/entertainment budget, reimbursement for industry memberships, or access to firm-sponsored suites/events. Those are defensible as “business needs.”
If you really want a club membership, the more realistic route is to negotiate higher comp (sign-on, bonus, or salary) and fund it yourself. That way you control it, and you’re not fighting optics internally about “personal perks.”
So yes, you can negotiate perks, but frame them as business development tools, not lifestyle benefits.

Looking at Accenture stock price performance I’m not sure they are going to throw in reimbursement for a country club membership for their salesforce anytime soon
Hahahaha. Right? The most out of touch question ever.
It gives me satisfaction that even the people at the most prestigious of firms can’t answer the question and instead have to take the most autistic response rather than the true intention of the original question. Enjoy being replaced.

Wow every single response from OP is either defensive or condescending.

OP is clearly deranged

It’s no wonder our stock is tanking. This is who we have employed now.
Ridiculous - no less from a “sales person” - or at Accenture we call them Sales PMO. They can join calls, create action trackers, and assign content in SoWs and Proposals.
A partner at pwc gets $2500 in discretionary spending… guess you can enjoy the munis
PWC removed the CC reimbursement about 5 years ago. I believe it was for the initiation fees.

Country clubs are still a thing? Cringe AF
Would be worth it to watch you struggle
Is this 1985?
I didn’t say Accenture.

Looking at how the entire consulting industry is faring at the moment, I don’t see any of them offering country club membership reimbursements to someone in sales - you could ask but I am pretty sure they will just laugh
ive taken clients to my club in the past and also hosted an offsite dinner for my team there once but i covered all the costs myself. certain things I expensed, but at the end of the day, I get paid enough to do all of that because the reward is I am able to get closer with my clients and my wonderful team that fly out for us to colocate and let loose! The line is just far too blurred to warrant that. Theres always a value realized you need to show when you try to get these things comped for… which is blurry for this particular piece
We used to offer this but did away with it a number of years ago
This is not really how we sell (usually based on expertise). But other consulting firms may be different. I don’t think so though…
Appreciate the question - who wouldn’t want a sales person who was thinking about how to maximize their return? Honestly though I don’t see it as happening, it wouldn’t hurt to ask. I could at least see you being able to expense guest greens fees when you entertain clients. Initiation membership and monthly dues are probably not likely unless you’re a major rainmaker and you negotiate it as part of your comp (ie reduced base, but want this perk as part of a bonus package if you win major deals.). Good luck!
