Do people enjoy the process of work in consulting? Creating decks and using excels most of the time gets quite tiring. I know the importance of our work but the actual working process makes me feel empty sometimes.

Feel like going into a technical role like analytics would make work more engaging for me.

Just thought of sharing this across. Wanted to know what consultants generally think of this.

I’ve worked in retail buying since graduating from college, but I am looking to pivot into interior design. I think I bombed a case interview with Chartis for an associate consultant position. The case was in excel and required me to manipulate the data via share screen with the interviewer. I couldn’t get some functions to work and was struggling to go through the 16 page PDF of data. I had several answers correct but needed to walk through the remaining questions with some guidance. My other 3 case interviews went well and I had great conversation with the partner for behavioral interview. Thoughts?
