Sending a thank you email never hurt. But not sending one could.
Why is this even a question? You should always send a thank you. It's an opportunity to remind the agency why you're the best candidate for the job. It will also help you stand out from those who couldn't be bothered to send one.

Totally. Its manners.

Yes. For some reason there's an anti thank you letter crowd here, but you should.
If sending a thank you email ruffles some feather, is it really manager you want?
FWIW I always notice when someone doesn’t send me a thank you email.
I do not. I also hate receiving them unless they’re truly genuine, which is like 2%. I’m not allowing you the pleasure of meeting with me. I have a job opening- I’m the one who has a need. I should be thanking you for coming in but HR doesn’t allow that. So we thank each other during the interview and that’s more than enough.

Yes, its still a nice thing to do. Send it the next morning. Nice and short, different ones to everyone you talked to, and ideally you make some kind of reference to the conversation you had with the person.
Short answer: yes.
Long answer: yessir.
It’s completely up to you.
I always do, I think it’s polite to thank people for their time, and call out something we talked about, or share a link.
Others are adamantly against it.
If a person doesn’t send one i rarely move them to the next round. Shows they don’t care about the opportunity.
Only if they want the job.
Yup. I know someone who won’t hire someone unless they send a thank you. Hopefully it’s just that one person… but why risk it?
I am this person 🙋🏼♀️
You’re a complete moron if you don’t as a copywriter. They probably won’t reply, but that’s okay.
I won't hire anyone who doesn't. It takes two minutes and shows a lot of appreciation.
I got my first writer job specifically because of a clever thank you note. My new boss told me that he loved the letter I sent him and quoted lines back to me. I used the note to prove I could do the job.
I always do. And notice when I don’t. I don’t hold it against you though. But I do notive
Yes, always. When emails aren’t provided for interviewers, I send a thank you note to the recruiter and ask them to pass it along.
Always yes. Especially as a copywriter, seems like a good opportunity to further showcase your skills.
How much of an interview does it have to be? I’d definitely send one after whatever today’s equivalent of an in person interview would be, but do I also send one after the initial recruiter call?
Those always feel a little too early in the process, but sometimes they end up being the end of the process…
Agreed. Do everything you can to get in good with the recruiter so they’ll refer you for future roles if you don’t get the current one.
If I want the job, I do
If you don’t get email addresses, reach out on LinkedIn. It’s also a good time to add additional questions if during the interview the interviewer said to “reach out with any more questions you have in the meantime.”
