Just out of morbid curiosity: do they really chase after you for the remainder of your pro-rated sign-in bonus if you leave earlier than anticipated? What if you get laid off?

I am in a weird position and need pieces of advice. I was staffed in a project that I hate and on top on that, found out that an ex manager of mine will be in the team as well. The person was fired from the manager’s job and is currently an analyst like me. I had to quit that first job bcs of his abuse and complained to HR about him. I’ m having very bad anxiety issues out of this whole situation. Spoke to leadership about rolling off the project due to lack of interest but they wouldn’t let me

In January I left my job in what I thought was a toxic workplace after almost 8 years with the company. 3 months into my new job I was furloughed which eventually turned into a layoff. Now I’m back and my old job bc they miss me dearly and finding a new job during COVID hasn’t given me any worthwhile options. I guess sometimes it takes a pandemic to give you some perspective 🤷🏽‍♀️

During the panny, my agency moved a handful of us to a different office with no choice. Basically said we’d be fired if we didn’t comply. When we asked if we would ever have to move to the new city, we were given no answers for months. Now, they’re saying back to office in September and I have a feeling they’ll be expecting us to move. Should I ask for money to move? I personally can’t afford to and told them from the start I can’t move. Also, I really don’t want to leave my S/O. Help!
