Sounds like an opportunity to reflect inwardly - what are you bringing to the table to inspire your team? Doesn’t sound like much…
‼️ sounds like a combination of false promises from recruiters and meh leadership. are you inspiring? are you motivating? are you supporting etc
Audit your onboarding process. Pair new reps with mentors. Invest in regular, bite-sized training sessions-not just at the start, but ongoing. That's the mistake that most of us make with reps and sales associates. They need to constantly revised with new approaches or even just reminders of old one because it's really easy to get stuck in a rut in this job.
You probably believe activity drives results. How wrong you are. A hamster can burn out running in the wheel but go absolutely nowhere!
Boy sounds like you’re a top notch manager. I’d love to work for such a motivating manager 😆😆😆😆😆😆
So I recently got a job in outside sales selling heavy duty parts and service. The culture and environment of the dealership is huge. Normally, the gas ends after 3-5 months of someone who Dosent have structure, words of positive criticism, or guidelines to the path of success. I don’t know what kind of sales you’re doing, but my manager and I go on cold calls together and figure out game plans on how to get more wallet share from current ones. If one person succeeds everyone does. Create an environment where everyone is supportive of each other, including you to help your reps reach the sales goals and that might mean going on calls with them to help them succeed.
I can relate to the frustration of feeling like you’re stuck in a revolving door of underperforming reps. It's where I am currently. I just do my best to make sure to give them the acknowledgement they need and reward them with small perks at work and it helps,, but not too much.
Don’t ask of someone you’re not willing to do yourself. Get out of the office and get out into the field. You don’t sound like a leader your Team is willing to work along. Not follow. Stop making the safe hire , and look for qualities not on paper. Passion, Desire, Resilience. You may be pleasantly
surprised.
