Mine requires one every 3 months
In general this is required of any controlled substance.
Mine is every two months for adderall. So she will write it for the current month and then one with a do not fill until date on it for the next month. Its much better than every single month for sure.

I did require regular appointments, and paper scripts. Because I’m nomadic and insurance keeps changing -this became too difficult so it is one reason I cut out the meds. I really miss them some days but find it very difficult to keep finding new docs -

Mine requires every three months but we did every month until we found the right dosage. I have a very long standing relationship with my psychiatrist (5+ years) and I’d been seeing him 2 years when I asked for the meds and he assessed me.
Some doctors are very risk adverse and want to see a patient every month because it’s a controlled substance and they can get dinged if they’re accused of overprescribing.
Yeah I’ve taken the same prescription for 13 years so as long as we aren’t changing my doctor is fine with me barely seeing him lol
Idk if my doc is just really chill but I’ve always been able to send a message on mychart saying I need a prescription refill and it’s auto sent to my pharmacy, don’t need to physically be seen. I get maybe 2 refills a year for a 30 day supply though I only take it very sparingly
Generally, they give out 30 supplies at a time, so it depends on how frequently you need the refill. In some states, they require a meeting every time.
