Do you feel our field is overpopulated? Are there too many pharmacists and too few jobs? I'm seeing a lot of new grads really struggling

I feel like there are a lot of pharmacists refusing to put up with the chains and therefore a lot of competition for non retail jobs. I was laid off from LTC a year ago and still haven’t landed a full time position. I’m trying to hold on with my part time job, because I dread the thought of going back to chain retail.

I think the new generation won't respond the same way and will just not work and hope Biden forgives their loans. I just got out of retail after 15 years!

Yes but also working big corner retail store sucks to work at too

absolutely!! and too many pharmacy schools at too high prices!!! everything is about making money off of the profession!!

I work at a hospital and we are always short staffed and always hiring. Turnover is high in hospital setting so definitely seeing opportunities in the hospital setting. I had no residency experience and got hired. Definitely look into smaller hospitals in your states. I’m in CT

Yes but Pharmacists are also becoming picky about the jobs they will take. This makes it harder to land certain jobs in the profession

How is the situation for MBB firms currenty in Dubai? Is the business picking up? I am thinking of moving to the region from Europe and got offers from BCG, Bain and Kearney. Would be nice to get some insights on the culture and business outlook esp. since COVID. Are there significant differences in terms of the travel policies among these firms. In Europe I know that BCG is quite relaxed, when it comes to their travel policies.

I’m a senior sales person that just left my first job (where I was ranked top 10% in sales, worked for 5 years, qualified for presidents club 3 times & was very well known & respected) for a new company that will definitely be better, but I am starting over. Also, working from home for the first time (last job deemed “essential”).

What are some things you all have done to stay motivated during the climb of starting over? Also when learning to work from home?

Recently graduated from pharmacy school and seeking jobs.
Walgreens offered 50K sign on bonus and I asked for 10K extra to accept offer and move to another city for 2 years. They accepted my request.
Starting pay is $55.05/hr though. From your experience, is this a good offer? Is it worth taking?

What's a red flag in a pharmacy job application or interview? I'm applying for retail but would appreciate input from anywhere. My last retail job was crazy toxic and I didn't realize it until way too late, so I promised myself I'd ask good questions before taking a new job.

a few weeks ago we had a super busy day with scripts and i think i went into ‘autopilot’ because i don’t remember it happening, but i handed out the wrong prescription to someone (before you get mad, i only started a few weeks ago and i’m a junior assistant), out of all people i could’ve given the wrong medication to, it was a blind person. i have severe anxiety already and want to know some tactics to go back to work without guilt? i take guilt very heavy and struggle to get past it all

I work in a mail order/specialty pharmacy at Optum and am aware that Humana (Centerwell) is opening a similar site closer to my home. Any pharmacists or techs with experience at one of their sites?
