My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I’ll try to bring it up with them, but I’ll say “if you want to end this feel free” so it doesn’t hurt me (and they can say what they really mean instead of sugarcoating). Someone told me today that they just assume I’m not interested because I always seem to “run” but I’m not sure how to bring up problems/feelings otherwise. How do you approach these hard questions?

Started a new job as GC to two companies. I met my teams on-site wearing Jordans and my nicest t-shirts and I’ve been on all my calls wearing a hat with my fingernails painted (my daughters love going to get manicures together). I’m sure it’s easier for a white guy to get away with this sort of thing, but it does feel like it’s a lot easier to be a lawyer and still be yourself than it used to be (although I’ve been in-house gang since I graduated, so I never had firm life to compare it to).

I judge the company I work every time they misspell my name even though I’ve corrected it over and over again. It tells me they don’t care and don’t want to make the effort. It’s in my email, my email signature, on my profile, etc. How hard is it to look it up and spell it correctly?!

What is something you want in a partner but is so absolutely ridiculous and can't put it in your profile?

E.g., they must be into manga/anime, but not to the point they drag me to a con to cosplay

My team lead calls be exactly at the time of logout and keeps pinging me to complete everything by eod.

How can escape from this situation.
I want to set boundaries in the beginning itself.

My manager continues to ask me to help other teams and do work on other billable projects. I’m sick of it .. and I’m going to explicitly say that no I can’t do it because my hours are taken by the existing project we are doing. Is this appropriate?

I've been almost 3 years in my previous company and never have I ever tasted any raise from them. I got transferred to different accounts and LOB it was so exhausting and finally when I decided to leave and send my resignation my Supervisor be like "you know you should be thankful of your job" To be honest the job was very stressful and supervisor at some point is somehow toxic but thankful I get to take my leave.

I’m a new associate working for a well-known defense attorney in my state. On one hand, I’m thankful for the opportunity to learn from one of the best, but he also excoriates and belittles me for my mistakes. Any advice on how much it tolerable? I am here to learn and advance my career but he can be pretty nasty.
