Does anyone have experience with Ben Glass’s “Great Legal Marketing” programs? https://greatlegalmarketing.com
I ordered a free “starter kit” from his company and received a decent-sized box with some books and audio CD’s. Haven’t listened to the CD’s yet, but the books aren’t bad, with plenty of practical advice.
Now he’s running a promotion where you can get two months of his basic-level course for just $19.95 to cover the cost of shipping. It seems that Ben is one of the better-regarded legal marketing “gurus” out there.

I ask have you seen the movie The Accountant? Something like that.
I love that movie, just watched it again tonight since I'm waiting to see the 2nd one.
It doesn't matter what i tell folks or how many times I correct them. Everyone asks me how is tax season going. I gave up after a few years.
Same. But other times when I get invited to things I don’t want to do in March/April I tell people that I’m busy with tax season no matter if I’m busy or not. They ask no further questions.

All depends on the context/environment.
The more likely someone would know what I do, I get more specific. Otherwise, I keep it general to not kill the flow of a conversation.
I panic every time and pause awkwardly like even I don’t know what I do then blurt out the first thing that comes to mind. This is my 9th year in public accounting…
Accountant
I just say accountant.

My thoughts exactly. Every. Single. Time. 😂
I either say “I’m an accountant” or “I work in tax”. It depends on the situation…like if it involved taxes or something relevant during tax season.
I don’t usually elaborate.
I work in B4 in tax advisory in a specialty role.
I introduce myself as a Partner at xyz firm. I used to say I was an accountant at xyz firm.
