Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Yes! It’s a comfortable place to work out (as a woman)
Honestly no - I never wound up using the nice HY location near my office because it was just far enough it added a lot of time to my day, and the Williamsburg location just isn’t great. Plus I thought most of the classes were just fine and nothing special - I save way more money by going to a nice single location gym near my apt now and if I want give myself permission to spend as much more per month on boutique fitness classes (ie corepower, Solidcore, SoulCycle) so that a month of gym+ classes cost as much as my old equinox membership - tbh the classes are higher quality, and I’ve never crossed the line of spending more per month than I would have on any given month at EQ. However, this definitely depends on your location/ neighborhood, mine has tons of those studios that take turns on class deals, which definitely isn’t true everywhere

Yes, I go to the HY location. It’s a very nice gym, and beautiful people everywhere. The only thing I don’t like is paying a premium compared to other Equinox locations. I thought the pool would be worth it but the sun chairs have a 2 hr max, and the wait to get a chair can be 6 hrs on wknds.

I think so, it gives you a certain motivation
If you use the classes it can be worth it. I find it totally fine for my needs, though it’s hard to justify the cost as someone who just uses the weights and machines. Only reason I go there is there isn’t a single half-decent weight room at any other gym near me.
